I got this sandwich on one of my recent trips downtown to the library. Across the street from the library is a new Mendocino Farms. It was my first time trying the place out. They serve relatively fast food with name brand ingredients any foodie would recognize.
I ordered “The Ultimate 4th of July” feast. The sandwich comes with sweet spicy boneless pork ribs, Gloria’s farm corn salad, potato salad, arugula, and rustic white bread. I was skeptical when ordering this thing because it sounded like it was going to be dry. It turned out to be a disaster. Look at it. Proportionally it is all wrong. There is more lettuce and bread than anything else on the sandwich. I had to follow every bite with a swig of iced tea because it was too dry to go down my throat.
Mendocino farms needs to toast the bread and remove 2/3 of the arugula before this thing is edible. Maybe if they tossed the arugula in light dressing it would be better. What a waste of money this thing was.
