No Heartburn?
Alone, hungry, and feeling adventurous I drove over to Glendale for lunch one day. To my surprise Glendale is like being in Armenia. Everywhere I looked there were Armenian markets and people blasting techno out of their cars. I felt like I had stumbled upon gold. After doing a loop through town a few times I settled on Kabab Way No Heartburn Original Shish Kabab. Genius name. Heartburn has plagued me my whole life, and with all the garlic I was about to consume, I was ready to put Kabab Way up to the No Heartburn challenge.
I ordered the chicken lula kabab on salad with sides of hummus and spinach yogurt dip. The lula kabab was a hit and the salad was a miss. I did eat all of the salad but only because each bite was with kabab. The hummus was smoky with a healthy kick of garlic. The spinach and yogurt sauce is fast becoming one of my favorite things to eat. I would lather this stuff on almost anything.
The restaurant itself is pretty bare bones. A bunch of fast food style tables and a flat screen blasting Jim Cramer’s Mad Money. Not the right environment for a long lunch.
To Kabab Way’s credit an hour after my meal I did not have heartburn. I also wasn’t burping up garlic, as is usually the case when I eat kabab. I felt great. When in Glendale one must try Kabab Way No Heartburn for a quick meal. I can’t wait to go back and see what else the Armenians are cooking over there.
