ECO:nomics Conference:

My Dad is in Santa Barbara this week at the ECO:nomics Conference. The conference is put on by the editors of the Wall Street Journal and is billed as “the premier forum for leaders at the intersection of business and the environment.”

T. Boone Pickens is a featured participant. Besides being known as a corporate raider in the 80’s, T. Boone Pickens has been buying up sub surface water rights in northern Texas with the hopes of selling it one day. He’s currently 369 on Forbes Richest list, but once he starts selling that water watch for him to shoot up the list.

The conference takes place at the tony Bacara Resort and Spa. Tonight is the kick off dinner and he sent me photos of the menu and three courses. Check out the menu. I have been really into beets these days so the salad looks great. You also can’t go wrong with a rack of lamb. He will be keeping us posted on meals throughout the conference. Thanks Dad.
