Yuca’s:
Everyone I know in LA raves about Yuca’s. The James Beard Award in 2005 put it on the national map. I have been there many times and agree that it is one of the best places for Mexican food in California. Above is a picture of the cochinita pibil and carne asada tacos. Their tacos are made with two regular sized corn tortillas. Most of the taco trucks in Los Angeles seem to use a smaller tortilla than Yuca’s. The only complaints I would have about Yuca’s, is there lack of salsa options and sometimes the tacos can be dry. Other than that this place is pretty special. Nat likes to get her carne asada tacos with cheese sometimes. They use slices of American. Kind of weird.
