Hungry Cat:

The Hungry Cat is one of Nat’s favorite restaurants in Los Angeles. We had dinner there with Charlie and David on Saturday night. They both ordered the market lettuce salad with egg, avocado, and pecorino. It was delicious. They both raved about how good it was and went back on Monday night to get it again.

Nat ordered the steamed Alaskan King Crab leg in grain mustard with buttered toast. She orders  this dish every time she goes to Hungry Cat because it is the “best thing” they make. Crab in grain mustard is a mean combination.

Hungry Cat is a seafood restaurant but they also happen to have an amazing burger. The Pug Burger comes with bacon, avocado, and blue cheese. I ordered it without the bun this time (It’s an LA thing) but when you do get the bun, you have to unhinge your jaw to fit this thing in your mouth. My philosophy with fries is the more dipping sauces the better. Hungry Cat already brings out a side dish of ketchup and mustard if you order the pug burger but when I asked for mayonnaise, they surprised me with a garlic aoli. Sometimes garlic aoli can be too watery but Hungry Cat got the consistency and kick of garlic just right. This is one of my favorite burgers out.

Dave finished the meal off with the chocolate bread and butter pudding. It was great but I was too full to have more than one bite.

If you feel like fresh seafood or an amazing burger, when in LA, Hungry Cat is a must. I forgot to mention their raw bar, which based on the look in Nat’s eyes when the oysters arrive, must be great.
