I met Rickey for a coffee this week at Dean and Deluca. Rickey always goes to Dean and Deluca for coffee. I can’t afford to shop at Dean and Deluca but I like to go there alone and look at the food and eat the free samples. I made Rickey do the rounds with me but to our dismay there were no free samples.

I spotted this bacon and cheddar scone while waiting in line for my coffee. Bouchon Bakery is owned by Thomas Keller of French Laundry which is another place I can’t afford to eat but being that it is located in the Napa area provides some hometown pride for me. Rickey saw me snap the picture and said that the scone is one of the most dense things he has ever eaten. I told him the best way to eat it would be cutting off an eighth every morning for a little treat. Basically you are looking at a bacon and cheddar candy bar. I would choose this over a candy bar any day.
