Sometimes the worst food decisions I make are when I have nothing to do. I was waiting to get into the studio yesterday because I had no keys and this sign for a “Hot Chocolate Latte” kept staring me in the face. After a five minute stare off I gave in and walked inside the newly opened TBaar. TBaar is a bad name for a place to get bubble tea. I get it but it’s not like the alternate spelling makes you feel better about the place. As a rule of thumb I don’t think you should take out letters when naming something. Another example I don’t like is Brgr who boasts on their site “we go against the grain to create a better burger”. I just read that as I pasted the link into this post and now I am going to have to challenge them to see how “better” their burger is. So I went into TBaar and asked for an Iced Hot Chocolate Latte. The guy told me they couldn’t make an iced version of the drink because it was hot chocolate. That made sense to me and he told me to try a smoothie. I ordered coconut. Now I am realizing that all he had to do was pour the hot chocolate latte over ice to make it cool but I guess we were both too stupid to realize that. Before I ordered the popsicle I had to establish the ingredients of this smoothie. I didn’t want him slipping in a banana because I didn’t want to puke on Chrystie Street. He assured me it was just coconut and ice. Well as you can imagine coconut and ice is basically a blended coconut popsicle so the drink was really boring. Complete was of three dollars. I went outside with my drink feeling like a complete idiot for getting conned into buying something from TBaar.

On another note they do feature a staple of waiting for the bus in chinatown cuisine one dollar hot dog but it’s the size of a normal hot dog not the infamous jumbo so I would stay away.

All in all bad experience at TBaar. I am never going back.
