My friends Aaron and Deering are on a road trip to Florida right now and stopped off to stay in the night in Charleston, SC. Since Charleston is Deering’s hometown one would presume he knows all the spots. Tonight he chose Hominy Grill. Aaron ordered the Shrimp and Grits special which consists of shrimps sauteed with mushrooms, scallions, and bacon served over cheese grits. Upon receiving these photo’s I did a little menu research on Hominy Grill and decided had I been with them I would have ordered the sesame crusted farm-raised catfish with sauteed okra, deep fried cheese grits, and geechee peanut sauce pictured above. Since Deering knows how I feel about Anthony Bourdain he snapped a photo of the owner of Hominy Grill standing out front with Bourdain. Always nice to have people looking out for you.
